In the midst of endless phone calls and friendly banter at the call center, Lorin and Rury’s paths crossed. What began as casual interactions soon turned into late-night conversations—Rury gaming while Lorin relaxed and watched TV. Lorin was captivated by Rury’s open-mindedness and music taste, while Rury was enchanted by Lorin’s wit and laughter. Their connection deepened from friendly chats to something much more significant.

Our early days included memorable moments like debating our first date—whether it was a New Year’s celebration at Ruins in Dallas or just hanging out in Bishop Arts. We’ve shared unforgettable experiences such as four-wheeling on a beach in Acapulco and attending concerts, including a breathtaking The Weeknd show in Seattle with a mountain-and-sunset backdrop.

The proposal was a beautiful surprise on Leap Year after dinner at one of our favorite sushi spots, made even more special by Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” playing in the background. We felt immense gratitude and excitement for our future.

We’ve learned that relationships aren’t always 50/50, but advocating for each other is essential. Through the ups and downs, we’ve supported each other with love and understanding. We look forward to traveling more, buying a house, building a catio, and living sustainably.
